OFF TO THE SEASIDE
by
George Robert Saint

Little children rosy cheeked
Holding mummys hand
Going off to the seaside
To play in the golden sand

'Can I have an ice cream mummy?'
'Of course you can my love
The very least that I can do
For my special turtle dove.'

'I want a bucket and spade mum
And a toffee apple too.'
'It's your day out my darling child
I'll give anything to you.'

The sun shines down on children
Playing by the sea
Engrossed with building castles
A joy for you and me.

Mummy says it's time to go
To her lovely little dear.
He started crying and stamping
So she clipped him round the ear!
